Cubic capacity
Cubing is to determine the load space that we occupy in the mean of transport, which subsequently involves transportation costs directly proportional to what you measured or weighed.
Calculating ocean freight costs
Ocean freight rates for LCL, are provided at a rate of TON or CUBIC METER, which is arithmetically greater.
This fee is part of the following equivalence:
1 CBM = 1 TON
Example:
1 pallet / 500 kgs / Dimensions: 1.80 x 1.00 x 1.40 mts = 2.52 M3
Freight:
USD 95 / Ton.M3
Then we have that 2.52 is greater than 0.50, so the ocean rate will be applied to the displacement: 95 x 2.52 = USD 239,40 for the ocean freight.
